we do not regret the past...

"Regrets for hurtful things I have done to others may be healed by making amends as well as I can. Regrets for missed opportunities will vanish as I try to make wise choices today, Let me fill this one day with thoughts and actions I will have no need to regret. Let me undertake only as much as I can accomplish well, without haste or tension." -June 30 One Day at a Time in Alanon...

I am on the brink of another 4th Step... I did a thorough housecleaning this fall at a Men's Spiritual Retreat and gave it to a fellow AA. Since then, I have done fairly well with everything. But, lately I have allowed one of my major shortcomings (anger/temper) to affect some people very close to me. So, it's time once again to review my side of the street and take care of spiritual business. I have to be careful not to beat myself up too much for my digressions. So, this reading really hit home with me today. "We do not regret the past nor do we wish to shut the door on it..." -"The Promises" AA Big Book p. 83

My past is my greatest teacher.

peace to you all!

I am finding steps 7 and 11 are my tools for those nasty defects of character that seem to keep coming up. Good luck. Progress not perfection ~ THANK GOD!
