closing day!

Well, today is sort of a big day for the business... I have a closing. This is the 2nd one since I opened in July, and the first one I've thru my office from start to finish. Another office had to process my first one since I wasn't open yet. So, this is sort of my first official closing. It feels good after last week, cuz I had three customers decide to hold off for now... That's kind of a drag. But, I did good work in getting them prepared, getting them pre-approved on good programs. So, when they are ready to do something, I should have a shot at getting their business. And really, that's what this is all about; planting seeds for future biz. I have a couple more deals getting close so Sept. ought to be a productive month. I'll tell ya, it can be agonizing, starting from zero and trying to put together a productive pipeline. But, I have advertising a bit, doing plenty of networking and in the end, as I treat each customer with an attitude of service, rather than the standard mortgage broker attitude of "How much money can I make off these people, how soon?" I think I will be in good shape in this thing gathers momentum. So, that's today's exciting news. We have an open house tonite at Ian's pre-school and that about covers it! The weather here is perfect as Sept. is always the best weather month here in Ohio. The temps are in the low 70's during the day, mid 50's at nite, low humidity... it's all good!

Prayer for the day...

God/HP, thank You for my sobriety, family, health and the various blessings in my life. Thank You for putting me in a business position to help others, and earn an income to take care of my family as a result. I pray for Your Will and Grace in the lives of all my family and friends, most especially the alcoholics who suffer, and for my realtor Kim who is having some health issues. I thank you for making us available to attend my step-dad's family reunion on Sunday. It really made his mom, Grandma B very happy to have us there. It had been a long time. Please help me again today to remember to keep my expectations low, my acceptance high and to bring an attitude of service and gratitude in all I do today.

peace to you all...
