Indian Summer Sunday

Good morning all! All back from WV safe n sound, a wonderful few days down in the mountains and hollers of appalachia! We had a really nice Thanksgiving, I hope y'all did too! Granny and I made dinner together, had a ball, got some effort made on Christmas shopping, ate too much (dAAvid, I am taking MC's suggestion and disregarding any numbers for the week, we'll resume next Monday), finally found a Denny Hamlin hat. Mama Bear and I even had an afternoon to ourselves to visit this quaint lil town we like and go antiquing/gift shopping/browsing. I can't wait to get around to all of your blogs to see how your Thanksgiving was!

Today is the Feast Day for our parish at Church and our former Priest, now Bishop elsewhere is coming back to Celebrate Mass. We've got a small brass ensemble together for that, it will be nice! After that it's brunch then we put up the outdoor Christmas stuff. (ugh) Putting up Christmas lites is not one of my favorite things to do but, it is nice when its done. And, I am jumping on it this year as we are in the middle of a nice Indian Summer this weekend with plenty 'o sun and temps in the uppers 60's, maybe even 70! This year, my wife wanted to get this blow up thing for the yard... It has a little blower and it's this giant Christmas present with a moose that rises up out of it waving... Yes, we've finally turned into one of those houses... I've managed to keep it to just lites until now... Look out Clark W. Griswold! Ian is totally going berserk over the moose thing, has been going nuts since she bought it last weekend. Last nite he wanted to sleep with it (still in the box, mind you) I'll have to take a few pics...

Prayer for the day...

God/HP, please help me stay sober and sane yet again today. I thank You for my sobriety, my family, a beautiful, bountiful Thanksgiving with the in-laws and for safe travel to and from. Please help me today to be calm, cool and collected while Ian and I put up our Christmas stuff outside. While I am really more interested in the true meaning of Christmas, and more and more disgusted by the material Christmas traditions, don't let that make me some sort of snooty-scroogy guy! Everyone has their way of celebrating the Holidays... including my insane family! Thank You also God/HP for the chance to use the gifts You've given me to play in Mass this morning... very kool!

peace to y'all!

Glad you are having a wonderful Holiday time. I love putting up lights, shall I come over? :)

Good realistic goal to begin checking in on the food thing next week.

Hugs!
