home group and stuff

Tonite was home group nite, had 20 guys! (we average 6-8 men) One of our regulars has been bringing some awesome yummy homemade snacks. He's quite the cook, a retiree who, I think is using us as his recipe guinea pigs or something lol. Well tonite, it was a slow cooker full of shredded roast beef for sandwiches. Oh man! Yummo! I did ok with it, I ahdn't had dinner so I had a couple buns full 'o meat... I could've eaten more, I wanted to but I behaved lol!

We read Step 4, and my sponsee has returned to the meetings. It's the first time I have had a chance to talk with him in a few months now, since late last summer when we went golfing together. It was sure good to see him. He said he would call me tomorrow or Fri to talk. I am sure glad he's come back to the meetings, I hope I can help him to stick around and get on track. I pray that I am ready for God to use me in that way! Well, we ended up runnig over by about 15 mins due to the engaging discussion of Step 4. I love to sit and listen to (and share) experiences with the Steps, no holds barred! Good Stuff!

I actually awoke at 5:45 this morning, was at the gym by 6:45, got my 3 miles and 300 crunches in, felt pretty dang good... Maybe I will do it again!

Work is slowly picking up... I finally got the purchase contract today for a purchase I have been working on since early Feb. I should have another one by Fri for a purchase I have been spinning ym tires on since July (no kidding, it's a cluster-*&%^). I have several other customers out househunting rihgt now and any one of those could bust lose at any time. So, hopefully the insanity of spring/summer real estate will begin! The one nice thing about being along in this office is that I get 100% of the biz, no need to fill the pipeline of a second Loan Officer (or put up with the BS of a salesperson... lol) So, hopefully things will continue in this direction!

I got a letter from the Church today, asking about volunteers for the various Religious Education programs for kids from pre school thru HS. I think I am going to check into it. I would love teaching or helping out with religious education and youth ministry. It would be a great way to give and to keep me learning. And I love young people and want to help them get a good start in life. I feel like with my track record, I can offer a tried and true perspective on what works and what doesn't work (especially the what doesnt work part, lol).

Prayer for today...

JC/HP/God, I wish I could adequately express my gratitude for all that is happening in my life today. I means ure money is hard to come by, there's a TON of unknowns with work right now and my poor wife is just having a time of it (thanks by the way for getting her thru root canal #1 today). The thing is, that with all the "fun" I am so at peace right now, today... I know in my heart of hearts I am doing the right things for myself and my family and that You have a plan, have an outcome in mind, that I really do not need to know about. I pray that I might continue to be accepting of the things in my life today. Thank You God for entering ym heart and giving me the calm to get through the day. Please God, I ask Your Blessing on my sponsee that's back as well as the one who disappeared. I pray that the sweet mother of my friend has gone to be with You and is resting peacefully. Again also for my friend Mark's grandmother as well. Help me to be ready to help my returning sponsee find his way back to You and recovery.

peace be with you always!

I love your enthusiasm to those that keep coming back. 20 men versus 6-8, Geez, do you think the word got out about the retiree who can cook?

jk

Thanks for all your love Scott.
