friiiiday!

yay, I've/we've made it to another Friday! God has blessed me with an abundantly busy life, and weekends are my time to enjoy the family, work the honey-do list, watch the race/football (GO Denny Hamilin #11, GO Browns, GO Badgers!). The weekend is also my time for a little extra spiritual re-charge. This morning that kicks off with my weekly Optimist Club breakfast meeting (we help kids in our community, it's a bunch of "grown up men"- really we're just big kids). Tomorrow morning is my Men's prayer group, we're currently working through the Why Catholic book #4 on prayer... We take an AA meeting into the county jail on Saturday's (when I am home and not working at the bank), that's an incredible experience, been doing that for 9 1/2 years. And then there's all the time spent with Ian and my wife, and Cosmo the doggie. I love my weekends! I do love my job but I love my weekends more!

A Scripture passage I read with the kids this week: Jn 13:34-35 "I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you should also love one another. This is how all will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." It's really a simple notion, simply love one another. But it requires that we got out of our own minds and hearts, and see others around us. It means we have to consider the feelings of others above our own at times. It means we must keep ourselves in fit spiritual condition at all times, that we might have love to give. I don't know about you, but this alcoholic has a tough time with all of this. So, this particular passage is a good one for me to keep in mind.

Well, thanks to the US Federal Reserve Board and Chairman, we got a little interest rate relief this week. I happened to have two loans in the pipeline I hadnt locked rates on yet. So, I locked them as soon as I saw how pricing had improved. I have a couple of happy customers! Rates have since crept back up, the happy bounce is over, lol.

in God's presence...

JC/God/HP, please help me stay sober just for today,a nd please help me to always remember that everything good in my life depends upon my sobriety. Thanks for the new job, what an opportunity! I am overwhelmed with all of the information but it's coming along and I am am enjoying it! Thank You for my family and my health. Thank you for the hug and kiss I just got from my 5 yr old little boy who just woke up and wandered into my office as I blog this morning. I love those quiet little moments... Help me to remember to love my fellow person today as You love me, Lord. Thanks for the awesome week!

may peace come to all who visit here today!

That's some busy weekend you have planned. Don't forget to stop and small the roses along the way.
