Sorry I haven't posted all week, it's been a busy one! The new bank job is keeping me busy, as are all my other little projects here in life! I was offered to sit on the board of the United Way for our county here but, I am just too dang busy to add another thing to the list. I was kinda flattered by their offer though, it felt good to be asked to help out!
I am especially grateful to be sober today. There are so many wonderful things in my life that have all come from God, through my getting sober in AA! All I can do is try to give away my freely given sobriety to another, and so I do! My AWAL former, "kinda-but-probably-not-any-more-sponsee" made an appearance at my home group Wed nite. It was great to see him, looks like he's doing well, thanks God!
I am grateful for my wife and son, beyond measure... Even though we have sort of a lonely, non-intimate type marriage, we're raising a good kid so far,a nd for me right now, that's what matters most. All our energies go into that and our marriage efforts beyond that are nil. And while that's sad, I am grateful that niether of us chooses to fight with the other over that. It's like we've accepted it and we're doing what we have to do to raise our boy and be good to each other in the process. Hell, I dunno, maybe that's just marriage and my sense of what I thought it should be is stuck in some fairy tale or hollywood movie somewhere, lol. I'm not totally happy about that, but I accept it.
I am grateful for my Church, the Church, my CCD kids, the opportunity to teach, worship, celebrate and play music in such a warm, nurturing, environment. Again, yay God!
God, please be with my friend Dave who is having some heart surgery this week. Help him and his wife get through this with Your Grace. Please help me stay on track with work, our money, stuff like that. I get so busy, I sometimes feel I am about to meltdown and crash into the ditch. Please help me stay on the road. Thanks for reminding me daily that even though I am paid for what I do, I am here to be of service to You, my community, my family and this includes my job. Service first, payment later, as You see fit.
may the peace of Christ be with you all today!
