The Paschal Mysteries are upon us... Easter Triduum is here! We're travelling to West Virigina this morning to celebrate Easter with my wife's family. We'll be returning home Monday. I am looking forward to a bit of much needed hibernation! I have a stack of books, some work and no internet access! (this is a good thing!)

I was just too darn busy to catch the Last Supper Mass for Holy Thursday. I wanted to go, but I had so much work to do, I ended up dashing home from the bank and plugging in for another 90 minutes of work before disconnecting from the mother ship for the weekend. It's great to be able to get work done at home, I just have to not let it invade my personal life.

We'll probably catch a service tonite in Beckley, WV for Good Friday (Mass is forbidden on Good Friday and Holy Saturday so no Eucharist today or tomorrow. Masses can resume with the celebration of Easter Vigil after sundown Saturday evening, with the lighting of the fire, passing of that light through the parishioners via candles, signifying the rising of our Lord and Saviour from death to eternal life. Easter Vigil is my favorite Mass celebration of the season. Last year I was baptized, confirmed and officially received into the Church at Easter Vigil so it will always hold a special meaning for me. And of course, we'll do the obligatory egg decorating, Easter Basket stuff Sunday before Mass. Many people (I know I was always confused about this) assume that Christmas is the biggie for Christians. Really, it's Easter... Our Lord has come back to us after much trial and suffering, all for us, that we might be freed from the finality of death, only to hopefully join Him in heaven. It's a big deal if you're Christian. Of course, it's also a pretty big deal if you're a chicken, or if you sell chocolates lol.

I hope and pray that all of you, my dear friends enjoy a peaceful weekend with friends, family and your HP! See y'all next Monday nite!

Heavenly Father, please Bless my friends in and out of AA and the Church. Please Bless my family and I as we travel today to visit family. I pray for those on my prayer list that are ill or in a bad way. Thank You for all the many blessings in our lives today. I only pray that I might seek and find Your will for me today!
