I went to my first meeting in quite some time yesterday. That new noon group held their first meeting and we had 12 peeps. That was really nice. Something a little different happened also worth noting. That was the first time my wife and I had been to a regular AA meeting together in years. We've always kept our programs fairly (entirely) seperate in order not to run the risk of "sponsoring one another" and to give each other space to be her/his own person. So, that was sort of a strange dynamic. It will be interesting to see how this goes, going forward. it's nice to be able to hit a meeting locally during the day. There are other noon meetings around but they would require a 30-40 minute drive one way.

My wife and I are mailing a couple of encouraging cards to her niece Natalie who's back in rehab. I pray that she is ready...

Work was a bit of a sllloooooooowww foggy process most of the day. I only worked one day between 12/22 and yesterday. So, it was difficult getting "back in the saddle again" as they say. This too shall pass, there's plenty to do out there in Chamber of Commerce world!

prayers...

God please help me today to stay slow and deliberate in my thinking and my doing. Please guide my thoughts, taht they might stay clsoe to Your plan for the day. I pray that You use me to help another person(s) and I pray that I am open to serving You and those around me today. I thank You for the peace that has begun to find its way into our marriage and our household. I pray that I do the things necessary to continue my part in our hopeful growth. Please be with Natalie as she tries once again to recover from alcoholism. Please be with my friend Bill as he rests in Your gentle Grace after his long battle with brain tumors. Please keep Kayla safe as she travels across the state for her Junior Fair Board meeting/workshop. Thank You for this day.

I think it's great that you are sending your niece encouragement. Some in my family have written Andrew off (at 26!). I have to wonder...would they write me off also if I got too sick.

Scott, one meeting a week used to be my schedule and every other week, meet my sponsor. Funny, now retired I go to seven 7 AM meetings (every day) and sometimes stay for he 8 AM, and sometimes add a noon, and/or a 7 PM, 8 PM, etc.

I used to DREAM about being able to do this, and now it is wonderful reality. Nope, I don't NEED all those meetings, but that is where I meet the peeps who DO!

And God is present at every single meeting--for ME.

And yes, I am also thankful for this day...with you.

LOVE! PEACE!

I hear you about getting back in the saddle. It was a rough day yesterday for me.

The prayer for her is important. Everytime she tries to battle this disease, a part of her opens and changes for the best.

Hang in there.

Prayer changes things, usually us, not God. I love that you and your wife went to a meeting together. Joe and I do that every day. We never get mixed up about the sponsor issue. He has his guys, and I have my girls, and we just sit together during the meeting and hold hands. It's very nice.
