gotta share some gratitude...

It's been awhile since I wrote out a gratitude list so...

Today I am grateful for:

AA/Sobriety/12 Steps
HP
my wife, son n doggie
warm weather & sun
the new business
a little fear of economic insecurity
the musical gifts God gave me
that I have had the courage to begin to use those gifts again, after not playing for yrs.
evenings and weekends with my family
bike rides and trips to the big pool with Ian
that my wife is still not smoking, on this attempt to quit, I think she's over a month again
that I haven't added to the challenge of not smoking (at least I don't think...)
bluegrass music
lots of books to read
blueberries and granola in my yogurt
fresh veggies from my garden
that I finally found that 12:30 meeting that moved, I went there yesterday for the first time since May

Prayer for the day:

God/HP, thank you for a chance at another sober day. I pray that I may carry this attitude of gratitude through my day, sharing it with everyone I meet. I pray that I can keep my focus as I work through the many tasks at hand. Please help me remember that it's one day at a time, one task at a time, and not focus on everything I have to do. God, help me to remember to look for what I can give to this day, not what I can take from it. Most of all, help to to never forget that my sobriety is the single most important thing in my life, for everything depends upon my not taking that first drink. God also, I pray for Your Will, Blessings and Grace in the lives of all my alcoholic friends, but most especially for MC and her family, as they deal with her son shipping off to the Middle East. I pray that you might hold him in your loving arms, keeping him free from fear and worry.

peace to you all...

What a precious prayer Scott. Thank you for presenting it so we can all set forth our prayers for her and her family.

May the sounds of music echo in your soul . . .
