Just a lil somethin to consider over the weekend

Hola everyone... Here's that thing we did on retreat a couple weeks ago. I promised I would share with you... It's a real thinker!

It's been a great week, busy, chaotic at times, but lots of life crammed into our little 24 hr units.

This weekend we have our 3rd annual Pumpkin Festival. We have a very active collection of people who love to grow giant pumpkins and last yr they set the world record for the largest pumpkin pie, it was insane! This year, they say that a new world record might be set for the largest pumpkin ever grown/weighed. The excitement for the festival besides the normal beer drinking, etc. is that they are going to lift a giant pumpkin up 80 ft in the air with a crane, and drop it on a smashed up old car. They plan to do this 3 times during the evening... There's evidently not much else to do in these parts when it begins to get chilly!

Prayer for the day...

God/HP, thank You for Your continued gift of sobriety and good health. Also, thank You so much for introducing me to the church, through my wife... I am really learning alot about myself, my faith and spirituality as a result of RCIA. Please help me remember that I am here to serve, not to judge, or see how much I can get out of life. Also, help me to be a better, more patient and tolerant person, especially where my family is concerned. Also, I thank you so much for the peace of mind you've blessed me with these days, despite all the things that go on around me that I don't much care for. I wanted to ask for Your Will and Blessings for my AWOL sponsee, for my acquaintence in the program who has recently had brain tumor surgery, for our troops and their families... For the still suffering alcoholics out there...

peace to y'all!

No but really, that is too cool. I love pumpkins, ask Tab. In fact maybe next year Tab can enter in this contest, she has grown a few little babies in her back yard this year. Isn't that cool.

That exercise is reallt great. I would love to learn what fellow bloggers would do/write.

Hope you r having a good Friday Z 13th!

Now a Pumpkin Festival is just my kind of thing. I love geeky stuff like that. I have never had any luck growing them however.
