kindergarden screening!

This morning, in about half an hour we take Ian for his kindergarden screening. It's amazing how quickly he is growing up. I try my best to savor my time with him, especially now that I am busy with work, trying to get this biz cooking for spring/summer.

Scott W. tagged me to write out my work history/alcoholic trail of insanity. Click his name to read his story, it's really interesting, he's led quite a life! I cannot wait to get around and read everyone he tagged. I will probably write mine out later in the week when I have more time.

Last evening was my final RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) class. My preparations for Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion are nearly complete. I cannot believe how quickly this has gone. I am really going to miss my weekly "meeting" with other church members. There is a small men's prayer/bible study gruop that meets every other Saturday morning. I think I am going to start hitting that on a regular basis. I feel like I have only scratched the surface on my faith journey and I want to learn and grow as much as possible.

Prayer for today...

JC/HP/God, please remove my obsession to drink, use drugs, smoke ciggys and do anything else that separates me from the Sunlight of Your Spirit. I pray that I seek opportunities to be Your servant today in everything I do. I am so grateful to you for the blessings in my life, AA, sobriety, the Church, Your Son, my wife and son, our health and so forth... God,I ask Your Love and Blessings for my friend Linda, her mom and her family, they just found out her mom has Stage 3B cervical cancer. Please hold them in Yuor gentle care as they struggle with this difficulty. I also ask Your Blessing and Grace for my friend Mark. His grandmother is dying right before his eyes. Please give him the strength to continue to sit at her side and comfort her in her last days. Help him and his faimly get through this difficult time. I also pray for Your Will and Grace in my life, my family's lives, for all my friends, and especially for my two sponsees. I pray they find their way, Your Way. I pray that I am able to help in any way I can.

peace be with you all!!

There is a new book by Donale Neale Walsh (author of Conversations with God) titled Home With God: In a Life That Never Ends. It's about death and how/why it happens. I would recommend it to anyone struggling with someone reaching the end of their life.

Can't wait to read your job history.

Kids really grow up fast. I can still remember the feel of little hands on my neck - hugs. It sounds sad, but it is happy. It makes me smile.

I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of my faith -after 55 years and 15 years of formal education.
