to my Christian friend Patrick...

In response to your post today on my blog...

For what it's worth Patrick, your comments are no longer welcome on my blog. I refuse to enable moderation in an attempt to keep you from posting as that just makes this blogging thing to be too big a pain to mess with. Furthermore, I refuse to inconvenience the bloggers who like to come here and comment. You have made your hatred for AA abundantly clear, and that's fine for you. However, I do not hold with your beliefs and I do not appreciate having to read your rhetoric on my blog. If you wish to continue "harassing" me and my blogger friends who visit this blog, I would appeal to your Christian nature and ask that you keep your opinions off my blog. If you really want to proseltyze on behalf of Christ and share your views on AA, I suggest that you create your own blog, and invite comments as I have. I am sure you'll find plenty of people who share your views. Thank you for following the teachings of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and respecting my request! Any further posts by you will be deleted as you have thus far demonstrated that you have nothing positive to add to my blog.

Ok, enough time spent there...

We have been blessed with some truly spectacular weather this week, a tease of the upcoming spring season indeed. It was 75 yesterday and sunny/breezy! I wish I could've got outta the office and enjoyed some golf. But, I've got too much to do to be able to take time off.

I am preparing for my first ever Sacrament of Reconciliation. It was suggested to me last evening in RCIA class that even though I will be Baptized, I ought to go through the process of Confession and Pennance. So, I shall. Our parish has a Reconciliation Service Planned for Momday evening. I will attend that and give my first ever confession. It should dovetail nicely with my plans to do a 4th & 5th Step. This is all really in preparation to grow closer to God and Christ as I complete the process of becoming Catholic. I am really excited!

Prayer for today...

God/HP/JC, thank You for another blessed day sober. I especialy thank You for this awesome weather. It really has raised my spirit! Thank You for putting Patrick in my life, he helps me make sense of my faith and my need for Alcoholics Anonymous. Thank You for giving me the patience to try to understand someone who holds beliefs so very different from my own. Please help me remember that I am here to serve You and grow closer to You each and every day. I pray that I might take that attitude into everything I do today, including how I help my clients. Thank You for Your Church and the beauty of the Faith. Thank You for Your infinite Mercy and Forgiveness, especially in this time or preparation, reflection and pennance.

peace be with you all!

I went to confession on Saturday. It is the most wonderful Sacrament - except for the others, of course. What a wonderful feeling of having a clean slate!
