a wintry saturday...

Very kool... our first Red-Headed Woodpecker at the feeder today! And, we have a pair of Purple Finches... We usually only get house finches... I think what's happening is that some of the warmer weather birds from up north are starting home. We don't have Purples here in the summer... Red-Heads are here yr round, just never had one. Very kool, I love wathing birds, and Ian gets really excited about 'em too.

It's one of those days where it's best to stay in, so I am working on gutting my office. I've allowed too much clutter and stuff to accumulate. We're going to participate in the neighborhood garage sale in about a month and if it ain't nailed down, it's gone, lol! Also, interspersed with cleaning, I am hanging out with they boy today. In fact later on, I think I will take him bowling, he loves that and it's a great way to get outta the house and give mommy some scrapbooking time!

I was going to workout today but after going to the gym last nite, finding that my knees and ankles were killing me, I took it easy last nite and decided to give the old bod a day off today. I played the most b-ball this week I've played since HS, and my joints are getting pissed off lol!

Prayer for today...

JC/HP/God, thanks for bringing our feathered visitors to the feeders this morning! I love knowing that I am helping them get through a cold windy day by providing food. In return, You help us appreciate nature and teach Ian to do the same. I pray that I might remain motivated to kick butt on my office here at home today, balancing that with some good time with Ian. I tend to get on runs where I lose the balance in my life. Today help me to remember to not allow that to happen. I pray for Your Will and grace for my family and friends, those afflicted with our awful disease, those men and families affected by the awful bus crash, the tornadoes all the craziness going on these days. I thnk You for protecting our troops and their families and ask that for another day, you continue to protect them and hold their families in Your Loving Grace.

peace be with you all, thanks for coming by!

It sounds like a good day for all of you!
How about posting some pictures of your feathered friends, spring is still a long way off in my part of the world!

Awww.....Scott, I haven't been good at stopping by so much lately, and I'm sorry about that. What I wanted to say is this.....you sound great! I can see the peace and serenity oozing from your words. Keep on keeping on!

I like birds too. I'm not really a cat or dog person [even though we have both] but i love birds!
We have gum trees up the back of our 1/2 acre yard and those trees house magpies and cockatoos. We have a big bird feeder and we put all our food scraps out for the birds. So we have this deal with the magpies, we feed them, and they don't swoop us in the spring! Pretty sweet deal :o)

I can't do any exercise at the moment for various reasons [see "taking my life back" blog] and i'm getting porkier by the minute, i can feel it! lol

Sounds like you had a great day also. Yesterday was apparently "family day". How sweet of you to give mom a break, and bowling is so much fun for the little ones!!! Mine love it!
Not a huge bird fan myself, but they apparently love us. Don't know what kinds we get, but we get lots of colorful one' here.
