gratitude

Sorry it's been a few days since I last posted, but it's been super busy with the in-laws visiting, Easter and all that! Suffice it to say that this weekend was incredible. Easter Vigil was awesome. My mind was racing so much during the first half that it was hard to concentrate on prayer and Scripture. But, once we got through the Baptism and Confirmation, I began to relax and was able to get more into the moment. I am really still trying to take it all in as it's hard to really comprehend the profound change that has happened as a result of entering into a life in/with Christ and the Holy Spirit. I suppose I'll spend the rest of my life, a day at a time, figuring this all out! Good thing there's no test on Monday! Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers.

It's time I shared some gratitude!

Today, I am grateful for...

The entrance of the Holy Spirit into me...
My Communion with Jesus, and my Baptism into His Life...
God...
AA and the Twelve Steps that saved my life and eventually led me to where I am now, WOW!
HP bringing my wife and eventually Ian into my life, they've changed EVERYTHING!
good health...
the motivation and the place to work out...
weight loss/feeling good/shrinkage...
Mexican food for dinner tonite with the people I went through RCIA with...
a pickup in business at work and all the appearances of a busy May...
the upcoming community garage sale and the motivation it has given me to get rid of stuff...
the desire I feel to divest myself of a bunch of stuff I don't need or use...
that I can be a good friend my friends who have lost loved ones this past week...
prayer...
The Rosary...
wonderful Confirmation Gifts...
time with my in-laws...
the fact that my mother-in-law and cousin in-law are returning to assist w/the garage sale...
Cosmo...
the cleansing of my soul via Baptism and the fact it's still in pretty good shape after 4 days, lol!
one of my sponsees found his way back to A Saturday and that he may just join us Wed at home group!

Ok, I could go on and on...

Prayer for today...

HP/JC/God, please help me to stay sober for today. I am grateful to You for the blessings in my life (see above). I pray that I might remember that I am here to serve You, and to carry out Your plan, not mine. I have to remember what Our Lord went through, that I might find peace and redemption. I ask Your Blessings on my wife as she prepares for some seriously bummer-ific dental work over the next few weeks. Please bless our marriage, as we are finding it difficult to communicate and live like husband and wife. Please help me to accept my present marital circumstances as they are, and help to not try and change my wife. Help me keep the focus on what I can do to improve as a husband and dad. Also, please be with my friend Mark and his family, his grandmother passed Saturday. Also, please be with my friend as they mourn the tragic loss of his mother who was murdered Thursday. She was 84. I also pray for Your Infinite Mercy on the soul of the man who confessed. I cannot even begin to fathom any of this, I only pray for Your Strength and Mercy for all those involved. Thanks be to God.

peace be with you all!

You show such a wonderful spirit when you pray for this man who has done such a terrible thing. God Bless You.

That sounds great Scott. Bible study is my spiritual line. You wouldn't think so by reading my blog.
