Friday off!

I took the day off to spend with the family, and what a nice, peaceful, laid back day it was. Awhile back, Ian found out the Thomas the Tank Engine actually makes appearances. Well, we went online and found that Thomas would be in Indiana this weekend so, awhile back we bought tickets for "A Day Out with Thomas" Well, if you're a Thomas junkie, this was heaven! The highlight was a 20 mintue train ride on a train pulled by Thommas... There was a petting zoo, pony rides all sorts of great stuf for the kids to do. It was a great day for Ian, and a great day for us to watch him have a blast. It was about a 2 hr drive from home and we had a nice pleasant drive through the country on a beautiful day. And when I got home, for being such a good boy, mama bear let me fall asleep for 2 hrs on the couch while watching the US Open (golf).
They are out on a walk with Cosmo right, I think... I just woke up half hr ago. I hope I can fall asleep at bedtime tonite lol!

Tomorrow, we head back to Indiana, a different part of the state, to go hang out with a sponsee and best rfiend at their summer cottage on this pretty little lake. The rent this palce each year for a week in the summer. We eat, sleep, walk, sleep, eat, swim, fish, sleep, eat, talk, play cards, eat, sleep and oh yes, eat. And of course, Ian loves swimming there, as do I. We'll stay Saturday nite, catch an outdoor Mass in a park, hang out all day Sunday and head home Sunday evening... It always makes for a fun trip and a nice Father's Day. Last year I remember a aprticularly nice nap I took on the screened in porch with the windows open, the smell of the pines and this great thunderstorm rolled thru... the rain on the lake and in the trees, the smells, the warm snuggly couch oh man, I am ready to leave to get there now! Man, sober is good! That's al I can say about that!

Prayer for today...

JC/HP/God, thanks for another sober day! Thanks for this wonderful feeling of contentment and peace... I am grateful fo the Blessing You continue to rain upon my family and me. I pray heartily for Your help with my next door neighbor. He had a risky bypass surgery today and I have no idea how it came out. There was a significant chance that it might no go so well. I pray for Your Will and Your Grace for him and his family. Thanks for the busy week at work! Please help me to remain ever mindful of my obligation to serve You and those around me. I pray that I might make myself fit to carry out Your will.

peace be with you all!
