gratitude, and willingness to share!

Well, what an 8 day stretch! Business: I went from struggling along, making it, but not by alot, not even thinking of making a career change to getting a well-timed phone call "outta the blue" last Thursday, to having an interview Tuesday, on the 1 yr anniversary of opening my doors, to having another interview on Wed that concluded by agreeing loosely to the terms of a forthcoming job offer!

Needless to say, I am fairly excited and of course anxious to actually have something in writing. I would imagine that I will probably see something before mid-week next week. It would be great to see something today, before the weekend, but y'all know how that goes lol! It would be somewhat of a giant-type relief to rid myself of the credibility/trust "anchor" of being a mortgage broker and become a local banker for a HUGE bank. People in these small towns are just not nearly as comfortable dealing with a mortgage broker as they are with their local banker. (and rightly so, if you read the papers much this past year...)

We had a great 7th Step/Humility discussion at the home group last nite, was wonderful! I enjoy reading/discussing the Steps in a meeting. We've got another newcomer coming round.. Actually, he has been round the fringes of AA since 1980 in and out. I hope this time it sticks for him!

Last nite I had two rehearsal, coming up on a busy time for playing my trombone. I have three weekends in a row playing during Mass, and we have 5 gigs with the dance band in between now and Sept 1. It's just so great to be playing again... I feel alot better about myself, using the gift God gave me, sharing my love of music with others. I took a long time off before and after getting sober. I am doing what I am supposed to be doing now.

All in all, my/our life is incredible. It has been ever since getting sober 11 and a half yrs ago. It just boggles my mind to see the changes in me and my life since Jan 28th, 1996. I am so grateful to God and AA for everything, I wish I could somehow express it clearly. I guess all I can do is just continue to try to share what God has so freely given me.

prayer for today...

God/JC/HP, please help me to willingly share that which You've given me in my life. I can think of no better way to attempt to repay You, other than to do my best to seek and carry out Your Will. I pray that I make myself open to receive Your Will today. Thank You again for the gift of music.... and for finally getting me over the hump and playing again. I pray for Your Will today for those sick and suffering from our awful disease and for the troops defending our country. Thank You God for my blogger buds!

may the peace of Christ be with you all!

I smiled when I read "I wish I could express it clearly"...I think that all the time, especially when a "normie" asks me about sobriety..there just aren't "words" to use that can express the overall CHANGE in my life..it's so HUGE. Grateful is just not enough letters :)
Glad to hear all the job stuff is moving in the direction you want.
