awesome day, yay God!

Yesterday, wow... God was hard at work in my life yesterday. He sent an AA/blogger friend to me via cell phone out of the blue. Man, that was a great call!! I love that! This bloggage has been such an addition to my recovery and my spiritual life!

For CCD, we did a tour of the church with the two 8th grade classes. The other teacher and I held a discussion about the various aspects of our chruch (both the Church and the building) as we walked through. It was tough to get the kids engaged but we got a few talking and sharing. We of course pointed out all the stuff in church but more importantly we talked and shared about what the richness of the Catholic Tradition means to all of us, in the various ways we express and celebrate our faith at Mass and in the church building. We ended the class up by the altar, the kids all sitting round on the dais (carpeted ;-) ) by the altar, lights dim, candles lit as we read and discussed this Sunday's Gospel reading. It was really a great session! You could literally feel Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in the sanctuary.

Then, I dashed over to my AA homegroup, only to find ANOTHER newcomer again this week! Yay!! We have such a small meeting and we've picked up 2 brand new guys in the past 3 weeks, bringing our total of regulars under 1 yr of sobriety to 4 now. Man, what an injection of energy and enthusiasm we've gotten!

And, on a side note, the refinance I have been working on for the nice young family in town has turned out great and will close Monday evening. They really needed this to work out and while we haven't closed and funded yet, we're down to the formality stage now, everything is approved!

prayer for today...

God, all I can really say is thanks! You're the source of everything good and I am just so grateful to be plugged into the Sunshine of Your Spirit today! It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful You are. I know I ought to know better than to be surprised, but I still am and frankly, that's fine by me :-) I love the feeling! All I have to do is ask for Your help, seek You out each day and knock on Your door to enter. You always take care of the rest.

peace to all of you!

It never ceases to amaze me either...how wonderful God is. It always surprises me..that I'm still surprised :)

What Pam said is a very big truth. It is surprising that we are often surprised.
But this is life. :)
