the week in review

Ok, now I just want to preface this post with this statement. I am not trying to toot my own horn, or claim superiority above others, or suggest that anything I accomplish is done without God.

Having said all that, it was a stupendous week for me with regard to my spiritual growth, almsgiving, helping others and material success as it relates to those parts of my life.

This week at work, 4 of my purchase clients closed on their new homes. Two of them were first time homebuyers, my favorite clients! I love helping young people learn about the real estate business, their new home loan and all that goes into buying their first home. I was also blessed to work with a young man who is making his initial foray into the world of purchasing and managing multpiple investment properties. By working together, we've managed to get the beginnings of a working plan for him to build a solid base for his investment property business, setting him on the path to making some good money, the right way.

But, my favorite deal of the week involved a single mom with fairly awful credit. All this girl needed was a chance, and someone she could trust. God helped me see her need and gave me the fire in my belly to do everything I could to get her into a good situation and also advocate for her as she dealt with a few lousy real estate professionals. Suffice it to say, this girl had "please take advantage of me" written all over her, presenting a golden opportunity for the wrong realtor or mortgage broker. The kool thing,t hat makes me feel so good about it all is that she was referred to me by her friend, who was in a similar situation before we closed on her first home back in Oct. Long story short, this whole thing could've been a nightmarish ordeal but she and I worked together, busted our butts, got her approved and kept her from getting taken in on a potentially bad home situation. There were electrical problems, water problems and seller/realtor problems. I feel blessed to have been guided by the Holy Spirit/HP in how I handled this client from the start and it ended up being probably my best loan ever, form the perspective of taking care of my customer.

I know all this sounds like a lot of self promoting nonsense, but I just wanted to share how good it feels to do good work, have success and know from where all of this comes... Without a relationship with God, His Son Jesus, my HP, the Holy Spirit, I wouldn't have the success and the opportunity to help people like I have. As difficult and stressful as this job can be, it's so rewarding to be able to help someone that most others in my profession would toss on the trash heap because they represent too much work for too little pay. Or worse yet, they represent someone to be taken advantage of.

As I prepare for and reflect on the coming week of opportunity to serve, I am ever grateful for the week I have had. Thank You Lord for the chance to serve and for the successes You give both spiritual and material.

may the peace of Christ be with you all!

Scott, thanks for sharing about your week. I don't see it as self promotion to share the good things that God has done in your life this week! It all points towards God and you rightly give him praise!

As a single mum myself, I can really apreciate what you did for that lady.

God Bless you and may He provide you with many more opportunities to do his work!

You sound like you are being given the opportunity to apply some principles in some of your affairs. It is giving and helping without expecting anything in return. That is huge! I hope to come across opportunities like that as I continue on this path.
