Thank You!

My Grandpa was a "beach stormer" on Normandy. He made it home. My uncle served in the Middle East in the 70's. He made it home. I have many friends that served and came home. One of them was a guy I worked with at the bank who went to Iraq for a year and made it home. I saw their bus come through town when they arrived home. I wept with pride and relief. I will call him today. I was working on a loan for an active duty Army man on his 4th tour in Iraq since this conflict started. He drives heavy truck, hauling army tanks through Iraq. I pray for him and his kids/mom who are waiting patiently for his return. I will call his cell and leave a message today.

Today is an important day. Formerly Armistice Day (of WWI fame) Veteran's day is one of the days during the year we take the time to say thank you to the men and women who fearlessly defend our freedoms and our country. They put their lives on the line, their families sacrifice so that we might enjoy the freedoms afforded to us by the Constitution of this great Republic in which we so priviledged and blessed to live. I love my country, I love our Veterans and I plan to spend my day going out of my way to say thanks. One of the service clubs I belong to serves lunch to our local Veterans today. I plan to be there early and stay late. I do not fail to thank a Veteran when I see one. To me, every day is Veteran's Day.

So, if you've served or are serving or are the friend, supporter or family member of a Veteran, just know that you're prayed for often by me. Thank you all so very much for what you do for us. Know that I never will take you for granted. God Bless and happy Veteran's Day!

Thank you for taking the time to appreciate our veterans in a tangible way. I have to work, but I said a prayer for them. God Bless America in these troubled times.
