lol no takers on the men's meeting post from Saturday huh?? lol

It's a new month, a new week and here I am with nothing to say this morning, lol. It was a smokin' busy weekend that flashed by in an instant.

Today I am keeping it simple. I am grateful to be sober and in decent health. I am grateful that my wife and I are taking things one day at a time and working on our marriage. So far, it's going well. We have our second session with a counselor tomorrow. I am grateful for an awesome career, working in my community. I am grateful for all the opportunites I have to volunteer in my community. I spent so many years taking and using, I owe... big time. I am grateful for my life today and I know it all comes from God and AA.

I gave my son Ian my trombone lesson book at Christmas and promised him we'd find him a trombone. He's been after me for several months to play my horns and I don't like to let him, since they are expensive and damage easily. So, since Christmas he's been on me to find him a horn (he's 8 and full of energy). I found one on craigslist and yesterday we went to look at it. It was in pretty good shape so we bought it with some of his Christmas money from my dad's side of the family. That side of the fam bought me my first trombone in 4th grade, so it was really a perfect situation. Needless to say he was really excited! After homework last nite, he played on it and got used to holding it properly, etc. It's going to be really kool teaching him to play. I don't know if he will stick with it or not, once it becomes something he needs to practice consistently but for now, he's blown away (no pun intended) with the whole thing! I wish you could've seen his face when he saw it, and it began to sink in that this is his trombone. That was a special moment.
