Friday Flash 55 (non-fiction)

Today is Friday, and that's pretty nifty on many levels. One of my favorite things about Friday is the "Friday Flash 55" fun we have as writers around the blogosphere. Write a photo inspired story in 55 words or less and go visit the G-Man and "tell him a thing or two" about it!
This week, I've chosen to go non-fiction, inspired by the photo of the AA medallion above. Today marks 11 years since my wife's last drink. This is a special day. Tomorrow marks our son's ninth birthday. This is a special weekend... This little piece is for my wife, Tiziana (or "Tiz").

"Tiz, a fair lady who's life has been frought
with struggles and stumbles that were
not all for naught.
She's found her peace,
and gained a new lease,
on a life she had thought
she never could have.
Now it's all gift,
her life today is the present.
Tiz, life one day at a time."

Love you sweetie!

Happy 11th to your wife! My hubby would tell her she won a pair of aces, you and your son. And it's a good poem, your 55 love poem to your sober wife.
