Poetry Potluck

Rules, Regulations, and Laws seems to be the themes this week for the Poetry Potluck. So, here's my weekly scoop of potluck poetry.

This little ditty inspired my take on rules, regulations and laws:

"Stardust melody"
Rules are plain to see,
but you see they're not for me.
Rather you hear, they're not to be
For I am for me, too free.
I simply cannot refrain
from meandering, no not in vain.
For if I were bound,
My melody would not be found
to be so dull and sane.
I must you see,
wander frequently,
to keep my song free
from form, temporarily.
Only to return
to the haunting melody
penned so cleverly
on a stardust night,
so peaceful, you see.

This was my grandparents' song. I like that it inspired you --stay cool and free, always.

it true... especially for a poet. we cannot be bound by rules or we would not find our true voice

Absolutely! Not all who wander are lost :) Love the song.
