a rainy start

As much as I enjoy a rainy start to a summer day, it has put a little kink in our Zoo plans. plus, it is supposed to get back into the 90's and waaaay humid. So, we may be putting that little trip on hold, in favor of something a bit more air conditioned...

My office here at home has become nothing more that a vast wasteland for mail, paperwork, model monster truck components, magazines, books, music, instruments and a few odd toys of Ian's. I have GOT to get control of my office again, he he I have let it go too far, as is sometimes the case! Mama Bear hasn't said anything yet but, I know her silence is through gritted teeth. I have done well at keeping up with the yard, not being out golfing once a week like when I was in leagues last summer, and doing things every evening with Ian as sson as I get home. So, something has to give, right? Oops! Of course, this weekend, I have some big time mowing to do what with all the rain we've had.

Prayer for the day:

God/HP, thank you for the Gift of continued Sobriety for without it, none, I would be unfit to receive any of Your other Blessings or Grace in my life. Please help me remember that I am here to serve Your Will, not mine. I pray that I might be industrious enough this weekend to get my office cleaned up, in addition to getting the grass cut, and working through the pile of work I brought home. Help me remember though, that I got sober to have balance in my life, so I have to give of myself to my family first and foremost. God, I pray for Your Grace, and Your Will in the lives of all my family and friends, and most especially for those who suffer from the awful disease of alcoholism/addiction. And of course, please help me be free from my own self-will, self-deluison, resentment and self-pity. These shut me out from the Sunlight of Your Spirit.

peace to you all...

When I look at my office, I am glad I live alone. I would hate to have someone else eyeballing it and wanting me to clean it. You should SEE the stuff on my desk! Yikes!

That's a lovely prayer. Thanks for sharing it. I can sometimes (quite often, actually!) get so self-absorbed I don't hear what my HP is saying. :-(

Ya, man, it is HOT, isn't it? 100 degrees here today for the N.A. Unity Picnic -- uff da, as is said in these parts. Seems air conditioning is the ONLY reasonable thing on the agenda.
I, too, look forward to reading your daily prayers. They often are very helpful. I also think it's really cool that you let us in on such an intimate thing as your prayer.
Thanks, Scott. I am grateful for you.
Peace,
Scout
