Saturday odds and ends...

We had a nice visit in Toledo Thursday and Friday! We got home fairly early on Friday as my mom and step dad were both exhausted so we took off early and let them get some rest. My mom is coming off of a bad bout with her asthma and bronchitis. Everyone had a nice time and got along well. It's good not to be the source of trouble and insanity around the Holidays!

Today is sort of a catch up on relaxation time for my wife and Ian while I head up to where our New Year's Eve gig is to set up the stage for our dance band. That way we won't have to mess with it tomorrow before the NYE dance. It'll be nice, I think.. dinner at 7 we start playing around 8:30 and go until after midnight. It'll be a long night, but fun! One of the nice things is that I won't have to worry about getting a DUI, I will sleep well, and awake fresh on Monday morning, ready to watch my nephew play his final game as a Badger, against Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl. That's going to be a good game, I think and it will be awesome to see him play his final game.

Prayer for the day...

God/HP, thanks for keeping me sober yet another day. I am grateful to You for giving me the gift of sobriety, so long as I continue to maintain my connection to You. I pray that today I do my best to be of service to those about me. I have to remember that everything I do is supposed to be in service to You and those about me. Please help me not take out my yucky feelings (getting some sort of chest cold/sinusitis thing...ugh) on those around me today, especially my family. Thank You for being present in my heart this week, keeping me from being self centered enough to act like an idiot with my family.

peace to y'all, enjoy your day!

Not worrying about a DUI, I think that when I would drink and drive I thought I was smarter than getting caught or getting in an accident. That fricken Dz.

But still, yes it is great to not be weighed down by that dilemma.
