a fun filled weekend so far!

We've had perfect weather, lots of fun, it has been a great festival thus far! Ian rode rides Friday nite, for three hrs yesterday afternoon until he begged to go home because his head was spinning so bad from the Tilt-a-Whirl. I ate chili at the chili cookoff yesterday morning until I thought I would burst! Cosmo walked round the grounds with us, trying to vacuum the place clean of all food debris, I swear she is a goat, lol. Ian got to hang out with some of his good buddies, and it has been just great! I enjoy watching all the people drinking themselves silly, thinking about how good we all feel this morning, lol.

Today, after Mass and a little brunch, we have the parade, then our swing plays for a couple hrs. Later on, the wife and I volunteered to work in the food tent. I get to grill burgers, dogs, brats... all that fun stuff. I had mentioned my illustrious career at McDonald's and Denny's and so there it went!

Friday I began the major removal of stuff from my office. This change is starting to hit home,a nd it's kinda freaky. It's a change for the good, should be a major upgrade from the standpoints of pressure and stress and money. But, this alcoholic enjoyed being his own boss. Perhaps that's why this is a better career for me. It's not an entirely bad thing to have to report to someone, and have a bit more rigid work structure. As bank jobs go, this one is fairly laid back, commission/draw only so come and go as workload dictates, no shackles between me and a particular desk. My office is a laptop. But, I have to coordinate my efforts between two retail bank branches, their mgrs and personal bankers. And as with any good large corporations, I have about a dozen managers up the food chain to make happy. The tuff part is going to be to keep my entreprenurial attitude in a corporate environment. But, they are looking for someone to work outside the bank norms, and be an entreptrenuer so, good fit!

Placing myself in God's presence...

God, thank You for my sobriety, and the blessings in my life. Thanks for a great festival weekend full of fun for all of us. Thank You for our great country, that we can celebrate our town's history, practice our own religious and spiritual beliefs, raise our children safely and so forth. Thank You for the people who serve to protect us, military, fire, police, emt and their families who sacrifice that they might do this important job. God, thank You for bringing this bank opportunity to me and my family. Help me play well today and be pleasing to those who come listen.

may the peace of Christ be with you all...

OMG personal vacuum cleaners are the best! They run automatically and sure know how to clean up our food crums.

I second Shannon, you are just fine. Anything new is scary, but it is what it needs to be. Keep on your spiritual track.
