summer garden grows!

Summer flowers... my various flowers are going great guns this time of year. This sunflower was way over my head so I had to aim the cam and guess, while on my tiptoes. maybe a pic of me doing that would've been more entertaining. The Zinnias are looking great again this year, as are the Black Eyed Susan's, one of my wife's faves... You can see the Pumpkin and Tomato garden in the background, growing like mad... It wont be long before we are eating fresh tomatos galore! I can hardly wait. Ian cannot wait to harvest "Artie", his pumpkin.

Ian and I went to the County Fair last nite... I loooove walking round looking at all the 4-H projects, animals, watching the kids show their animals, etc. I ate some good old fashioned fair food and we had a nice time. I have such awesome memories of the county fair from when I was a kid, it was really special for me and Ian to go to the fair together... My wife is content to not go to the fair, so she stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet...
I hit Mass before work yesterday morning, such an intimate setting, in the smaller side chapel. I was able to get a Rosary prayed, and got some "face time" with Jesus in the form of the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament... It really got my day off to a great start. I think I am going to try to do that more often, as my (hopefully, still waiting for "the offer") new work schedule will allow.
prayer for today...
God/HP/JC, please help me to stay sober today, and to help others who desire sobriety. Thank You for the freely given gift of release from my mental obsession ot drink, smoke and use drugs. I feel so free, so relieved, still. I love to share this with others. Please help me to stay on task, and amnage things at work, as if I am going to close up shop, yet continue to serve new customers as I they seek financing. I have to admit, I am struggling a little bit with starting any new loans, knowing I am going to be closing down. But, since I have nothing in writing, I have to continue on. Thanks for the County Fair last nite with Ian. Thakns for also helping me go ahead and be happy with the TON of work I got done by 3 pm yesterday, and for urging me out the door and off to meet Ian and my wife at the pool. Man did that swim feel great! I continue to ask Your Grace and Blessing for Karl and his wife and their coming child, for J and his tough time with kids/girlfriend, and J who is fighting leukemia...
may the peace of Christ be with you all...

Wow, your flowers look great! Love the Zinnias.

Our mators are already producing big beefies and grape mators. Yum Yum. John had a BLT last night and was raving about them.

Have a great day~

Beautiful flowers there!! Be proud. Early morning mass is the best. I used to go where I used to live, but with this work schedule, I am not able to do it anymore. The solitude was always so clarifying for me.

What beautiful flowers! And I'm so jealous of your tomato and pumpkin garden. Fresh tomatoes prove there is a God, in my opinion.

Your garden is well loved. You are present and available. Awesome.

We have a fair, well more like a farmer's market each Friday, I have been to it a few times and I love it. I am glad to see you taking advantage of living :)

I love to read about how you cinnect to your HP and stay active. It is very refreshing.
