home sweet home

There's just too many people around New York City! lol wow, some serious population density going on over there. Our hotel was about 45 mins SW of NYC by train(s) so I didn't mess with going into the City. After all day in training (zzzzzz) I was too tired to mess with trrying to figure out how to get around NYC, only to have to return shortly after getting into the city, to have any hopes of a decent nites sleep. So, I will have to check out NYC when I have more time to do it right. It was really kool landing in Newark and seeing the city from the air. We saw the Statue, all that stuff. So, that was kool! After four nites of sleeping poorly in my nice Hilton room and 4 days of mind blistering, brain numbing loan product and computer software training, I was glad to see home! This week wraps up all my formal training, some more shadowing with another senior loan officer. Next week, they will finally turn me loose. With all there is to learn, I am grateful for the training, boring as it may be. I would have been lost without hope, had they not put us through all this training.

The weather this weekend, yummo! It's been crisp, chilly at nite, sunny and clear during the day, my fave (except for spring) weather of the year! Football is under way, go Badgers and Browns, both own this weekend, yay! In a couple weeks, I get to go to my annual Men's AA retreat out in the woods, in cabins and what not. That's been my cornerstone of recovery since coming into AA. This will be my tenth yr in attendance. I missed a couple yrs there when Ian was born and had his first b-day. I cannot wait to get up there and see my friends from Toledo where I got sober.

Saturday, we went to a fall festival at a nearby lake/state park. we checked out all kinds of arts and crafts, and really got my wife's interested piqued after she got to talk with one of the artists. This guy paints acrylics on pieces of steel... it ends up looking waaaay kool. I am hoping that my wife gets "the bug" again to paint, create, do what she does. She's really creative and talented, but never gives herself credit... I hope this is what finally gets her back doing this stuff again.

My wife helped put on a baby shower for my sponsee's wife yesterday, and I got to be there to take pictures... Well, she was so blasted tired afterwards, we decided to just go out for supper. So, we hopped into the car, took a liesurely drive to supper, and an even more leisurely drive home, stopping to look at some homes we like, stuff like that. Afterwards, we took Cosmo on a nice long walk around town, like we do most evenings... It was really nice and relaxing, beautiful weather, etc. very kool...

prayer...

God, thanks for the many, many blessings in my life today. Thanks for getting me home from NJ safely. Thanks for the awesome weather we've been having, and the nice weekend at home with my family. I ask for Your Blessing and Grace for my grandma as she deals with her cancer, and for my cousins as they deal with the miscarriage of their baby. Please help me remember that I am here to be of service to You and those about me.

peace be with you all...
