Congrats are in order

Congratulations are in order for Christian, the newest designer to win the Project Runway series. I preferred Gillian's collection (like I know a damn thing about fashion, lol) but Christian is my favorite personality on the show. Somehow, my wife and I have become hooked on that show... The designs and people are remarkable!

I had a day long training session with all the loan officers in our region. While the training was good, and the fellowship/networking was great, I couldn't help but come away with an extra dose of stress and disappointment. My boss and his boss are both big on giving recognition for monthly loan volume and # of loans closed, all that. While I had a decent month in Feb, the region had a record month and many loan officers did over $1,000,000.00 in volume for Feb. The $1,000,000.00 monthly volume is sort of the "club" to get into. It's the psychological benchmark for success, generally speaking. So, I had to endure all the rah rah congrats and all that nonsense that really means nothing in the scheme of things. But, I being the competitive alcoholic I am, tend to take those things a wee bit too seriously, and I really left there and have continued since Tuesday to let it bother me. And along with that, they've upped the ante as far as minimum production standards, and what happens if you begin to sink below them, none of which was pretty.

So, having said all that, I am poised to have a huge March so I should have nothing to worry about. Now, all I have to do is have faith, work hard, dont get stressed, don't flip if some deals go south and continue to do what I have been doing to get where I am at. Again, this alcoholic has to sometimes really fight his 'default" positions with regard to attitude, resentment, jealousy and all that nonsense that comes with being an ego-maniac with an inferiority complex.

lol wish me luck! I'll be doing some praying and reflecting as we go through the month here...

Scott, I will pray for you, I hate that kind of competitiveness in business. People would perform much better if they weren't afraid of not meeting tagets because bad things would happen. I believ people work much better without threat and with encouragement rather than carrot dangling

I thought project runway was a lot of fun

Don't get me started on incentive programs for the sales force. They want quality loans, right? See my comment about how I used to work for a mortgage insurer... one of my responsibilities was to help set up an incentive program for our sales force for the right risk management mix. Boy did our sales guys hate me.

Doing the right thing and not screwing potential borrowers will let you sleep at night and be square with HP. Or at least that's how it was for me.
