living the dream!!!

It's such a relief... I have no loans to work on, no stressed out clients trying to purchase a home, no realtors barking at me. I have no phone messages from frantic people, no ridiculous corporate emails. I have no bank employees after me to call impatient clients, no time-wasting conference calls, no over complicated compensation plans or mortgage loan underwriting guidelines. I have left that world, thank GOD!

What I do have is a quiet start to each day with a hot cup of coffee, in my clean, neat home office. I have time to get to the Y on a daily basis. I have the opportunity to work in my community every day now. I have peace again in my life. I have time to get to my meeting, time to teach CCD and play my horn without feeling guilty. I have time to get through a few major "honey-do's" before starting my new career adventure. I have people in the community congratulating me on the street, telling me how great they think it is that I've been given the opportunity to be the Director of their Chamber of Commerce. (that last one blows my mind... lol and maybe makes me just the slightest bit nervous!)

All I can be is grateful at this point, as this major change begins to sink in and take effect. I needed so badly to get out of my toxic former job. Now, I can focus on a simple mandate, in an AWESOME community, among WONDERFUL people without the feeling of having to race around and deal with crisis, after crisis, after crisis all day, every day. That alone is exciting! Thanks to HP for "hooking me up" with this new career and chapter in my life...

I can relate to getting out of a toxic job.

Your post inspires me to continue believing and acting upon my belief to do what is right for me and not others. Without that sounding selfish. If i'm not happy with my work (or fun) time to change it.

You sound very healthy in this post.
