saturday reflection...

I've been hoping and praying that God/HP/Jesus can help me to keep this peace and serenity that has come over me in recent days... It occurs to me that I hope and pray HP helps me give it away. I know He provides me with opportunities to do so each day. I only pray that I make the most of those opportunities and remember how important it is for me to "give it away..."

Monday "officially" marks the beginning of my new career as executive director (honestly, that's what it's called... lol my ego LOVES that!) of our local chamber of commerce. I like to think of it as "Chief Service and Sales Officer" for the three communities in our chamber because that's really what it's all about. So far the outgoing fellow has been super, ultra gracious and helpful in getting me up to speed on all the "goings on," all the little details (of which there may just be about 2,000,000!) of the job. Geeze, with every passing day I grow more excited and thankful that this opportunity came along and that HP gave me the necessary nudge to check it out and eventually get the position. I really had no clear understanding of what I was getting myself into and I still don't think I've really seen much more than the tip of the iceberg. But, from what I have learned, and from the public's response to my getting this job, I am really excited and enjoying this very much! I am blessed indeed!

This morning is our first soccer game! I am helping to coach my son's YMCA 2nd-3rd grade soccer team and what a fun time this is! We've had 3 practices and we're "ready to roll" I think lol. I don't know alot about soccer but I sure enjoy working with the kids. I can tell you for sure that the week before getting sober, if you had told me that in 13 and a half years I'd be doing the things I am doing these days, I'd have laughed hard and told you that you were insane. I sometimes love to sit and marvel at the the turns my life has taken in recovery...

I should probably share more of my story with you all at some point.

I pray that you all enjoy a peaceful day! God Bless!
