a quick start to the day

Well, I slept a little later than I had planned this morning, and had to dash around and get to the office so I could call in my "every other Monday radio report," lol. I got there in plenty of time but I didn't leave any time to blog first thing this morning. Ya have to love starting off the day in a rush... or not! I have to try not to let that happen again. It's kinda scary, talking on the radio without having had any coffee lol. I like to be "juiced up" and well put together before going public lol.

A good friend of our in town lost her dad over the weekend after a real bummer of a battle with cirrhosis in his liver. He was never able to really get on the transplant list due to all the other fun stuff that comes along with the condition. Another one we never had the chance to reach. I had no idea he was suffering until it was way past too late. Families in these small towns are so afraid of others knowing their business that they often times won't go get help, and will even keep their sick loved ones from going to meetings in order to prevent "scandal." It's like they actually think people don't know their loved one has a problem. Now true, there's the closet drinker, sure but in many cases, alcoholics are well known lol, especially in small towns!

At any rate, it's just a damn shame and a really sad deal. We'll attend the viewing and probably the funeral as well. I hate it for the family, he wasn't really all that old, maybe 60. The only sense I can make of it is: "There, but for the Grace of God, go I."

Sorry about your friend. Another one bites the dust. Thanks for the reminder.

I didn't know you did a radio show.
