needing a constant reminder

Good morning all!

It's another sunny, crisp fall morning! We slept in late and missed Mass, sometimes you'll have that lol. later thisi afternoon we have a 4 mile walk to raise money for the hungry. It's called CROP walk. It should be a perfect day for a nice long walk! The kids (CCD kids, that is) go out and get pledges from people to sponsor their walk, collect the money and off we go. We send the money off to help feed the hungry. It's a nice lesson for the kids around here who want for nothing. And of course, participation isn't terribly impressive. But, we'll take who we can get.

I havent been able to get to my home group for a couple weeks, but this week I will be there, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the guys. We've had a great bunch of newly sober fellows coming to the meeting so the discussions have centered primarily around early recovery issues. It's been a great reminder for this guy of what I would have to look forward to if I decided it was a good idea to go back out there. I know that sometimes I can't get to a regular meeting, my home group reminds me that I cannot afford to venture too far away from the meetings.

This disease of ours, is patient, above all, so I cannot ever forget where I came from and how I got here to this point in my life.

It's that simple.

I'm glad you refer to the 'disease'. That, it is.
