Just a quick one before I get up and going today...
This weekend, one of the communities within our Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Oktoberfest this weekend. We've got a booth down there so it's a busy time! I can't say I'll be disappointed to see this festival come to a conclusion lol. It's been a lot of running around, radio/tv/newspaper promoting and so forth and this will undoubtedly be a long weekend of watching drunk people get more drunk lol They typically get from 60,000-80,000 people through their town of 3,000 people each year. Its'a BIG festival, the biggest one around here, and probably the second largest Oktoberfest in the state. (and the food is authentic German fare and it's WONDERFUL!)
On a fun note, I get to drive our Chamber of Commerce Unit in the parade tomorrow, that's pretty nifty! This sure beats sitting in a stuffy bank office trying to get too many loans closed, and disappointing too many "would-be" clients, and listening to all the big corporate BE day in and day out. Other than being ridiculously busy doing this and that with the festival and getting ready for several upcoming events, there's simply no stress lol. I was really afraid to leave the stability of the "mother ship" at the big bank to go back to being the entrepreneur type guy I really am at my core. I am glad I said a prayer, did my homework and stepped off again into the unknown. I feel as if I am a part of things again, not just a shadow in the corner, watching things go by.
Thank God and AA for the faith to make this change! What a difference in my life!
