This weekend is "dad and lad" with the Cub Scouts. Some of us are taking our boys a couple hrs north for an overnight campout at a boy scout camp. There will be wall climing, fishing, swimming, bb guns, bows and arrows, biking, hiking, etc. In the evening they have a big round up round a bonfire and then we head back home in the morning. Ian is really excited. If I weren't so tired I'd probably be more excited lol. I could use a day or two alone, to be honest. I've been immersed in people since I don't know when, lol. And right now, I'd benefit greatly from a day or two of silence and solitude.
My wife can't understand that. So, she never goes on trips, doesn't suit her and she doesn't like to drive long distances and has no friends she'd ever travel with. So, I make the occasional retreat, against her better judgement and preference. I could use a retreat right now lol! I'll make the most of this weekend and try to get and keep the focus off of me, and show Ian a good time. But at least here I can be honest and more self-centered about it for now. HP (should I choose to connect and follow) will make things a-ok, He always does.
