Flash Friday 55 (fiction)

Today's Flash Friday 55 fiction is inspired by one of the sample photos in my new laptop, lol. I thought a random photo to which I have no personal connection might make an interesting muse.

"On the point..."

"More than a beacon," he thought... "I'm the watcher for all ages." How the necromantic prism came into his possession, he cannot recount. "Now that I have this prism," His eyes rolled back into his head as he pondered over the glowing orb. "The worlds I'll visit with ethereal incantations..." all from the secluded promontory.

Oh! That NECROMANTIC prism sounds odious! My morbid sense of curiosity is stirred. What is this dude going to DO?

On another subject entirely, congrats on your growth as a human being this past year. Your hard work on yourself has shined clearly like a beacon in your blog.

And on the topic of purity, that word gives me the heebie-jeebies. I never had it, I always felt bad that I never had it, and I know I'll never get it. When I heard about how special the pure in heart are, I have felt doomed. It has always seemed to be a terrible contrast between what God wants and what Chris is.
So my personal Higher Power doesn't make purity a goal for me to reach. There's nothing pure about the human condition. We are a messy people. And there's no condemnation from our Creator about that.
I like what Martin Luther says: We are not being, we are becoming. I can no more become pure than I can become tall. But I can become more like what God wants me to be. That's a job I can handle!

Oh, this sounds like the beginning of a 18th century mystery. Very intriguing. And what a cool photo. Did they tell you where this powerful orb really is?

Chris- interesting perspective on purity, one that will require further reflection :-)

It seems that perhaps I've authored what could be the introductory weave of a good yarn! I'll have to think on this for a bit.
