forward...

Alright, I'm done bemoaning my bad news on the job front.  It sucks, it is what it is and we're moving on.  I do feel better, having taken a couple days to take stock, feel bad and indulge a little self-pity lol.  I thank you all for your kind and supportive comments, even if I did accidentally delete yours, Kristin lol.

Once I wrote my post yesteday and began getting a few comments back, I began feeling better in fairly short order.  I went out and about and knocked out a good day's work without a frown or an attitude.  That's what it's all about...  "A problem shared is a problem cut in half."  That's a truth I've learned in AA, and it is a good one.  So,
thanks :-)

My good friend dAAve (from Higher Powered) suggested, well... lovingly ordered me to write a gratitude list on today's post.  So, here's what's good, in no particular order:

I'm sober in AA
I've got a great wife and son who are always supportive

I'm loving coaching what appears to be my last youth sports team (Ian's 3-4th grade basketball)
I have the priviledge of working with the youth of our parish, teaching them about our faith
I'm employed, doing work I truly enjoy
I have a side plan, a back-up plan selling real estate (already doing better than last year)
I just took a few minutes to clean off my desk at work, re-organize and de-clutter
Mild spring-like weather in Jan-Feb (thank God, I hate the bitter cold lol)
Reasonable health
My mom is home from the hospital after last week's pancreatitis attack
The sun is out (a minor miracle in Ohio in Feb)
Good friends in and out of AA
Blogger friends

My mom will be undergoing a PET scan this morning to determine how to biopsy a couple of suspect spots in her chest.  The docs found that a spot on her lung had grown and they have concerns in her lymphnodes. I've been doing a lot of praying.

Nice list, good buddy.

I hope the best for your Mom, but pray that all of you can accept whatever the situation. Acceptance is the answer.

I do find writing out a gratitude list a great way of reminding myself that whatever was the greatest problem or injustice known to mankind is actually not that bigger deal in the scheme of things

I hope that things go well for you Mum and you have the strength to deal with whatever comes along

A great gratitude list. You have the best idea--just move forward with courage. Doing your best every day and good things will come.
